Monaco, November 2015 - At the beginning of November 2015 the first global "Private Sector Consultation on Plastics in the Oceans” took place within the Monaco Principality with the participation of key industrial change actors, among which L’Oréal, Nestlé and Philips, to create a discussion platform for the investigation of viable solutions to marine micro-plastic pollution
Thirty selected guests among primary packaging users, as well as associations and foundations active in marine conservation, were invited by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature IUCN, the Global Marine & Polar Programme and coordinated by the Foundation Prince Albert II of Monaco. Pierre-Yves Cousteau, son of Jacques-Yves Cousteau, and founder of Cousteau Divers, a non profit association for the preservation of sea biodiversity, moderated the event
